Sirtfood: Stellar Wine & Chocolate Diet
Sirtfood: Stellar Wine & Chocolate Diet

The Sirtfood Diet is tested by the most stellar stars possible. It was on her that the singer Adele lost weight - the photos before and after are impressive, Prince Harry adhered to it before his wedding - also a good recommendation. We find out what kind of diet it is, for whom it is suitable, and for whom it is not even worth trying.

Sirtfood: Stellar Wine & Chocolate Diet

The creators of the Sirtfood diet are British Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten. In 2016, these nutritionists released a sirtfood book detailing the principles of their diet. Goggins and Matten assure that this diet is excellent in every way - it helps to quickly lose weight (up to 3 kg per week), rejuvenates the body and prevents aging, improves memory, and has a positive effect on blood sugar levels. In general, not a diet, but some kind of magic.

What and how to eat on the Sirtfood diet?

The basis of the sirtfood diet is products that stimulate the production of sirtuins, proteins that perform many useful functions in the body. Studies have shown that it is sirtuins that are involved in processes that slow down aging and improve metabolism. In addition, they are important in the prevention of cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

The diet itself is designed for 7 days and consists of two stages. The first lasts three days, during which you need to drink a green smoothie twice a day and eat fully once a day, and the meal should include only sirtfoods, that is, foods rich in sirtuins. For convenience, nutritionists have compiled a list of 20 products that are allowed for consumption:

  • leaf salad;
  • berries: strawberries, cherries, grapes, blueberries;
  • onions, preferably red;
  • parsley;
  • soya beans;
  • olive oil;
  • green tea;
  • buckwheat;
  • arugula;
  • walnuts;
  • turmeric;
  • Chile;
  • capers;
  • dates;
  • garlic;
  • chicory;
  • celery;
  • coffee;
  • Red wine;
  • bitter chocolate.

The last two points look especially impressive, you must admit. But remember that wine and chocolate should not form the basis of the diet. In the first, short, phase of the sirtfood diet, it is better to refuse wine at all, and then drink it no more than once every 4–5 days. Chocolate - not milk, but dark - let's say, but not a whole bar, but only 20 g daily.

Adele and other stars who do not communicate with their parents

At the 2017 Grammy Awards, singer Adele gave a speech to her agent. “We've been together for ten years,” Adele said. - And I love you like a father. I don't love my real father, that's the point. So I love you the way I could love my father. " Thus, the whole world became aware of the singer's relationship with her parent, or rather, the absence of this relationship. Why the relationship between father and daughter did not work out is unknown, the singer avoids all questions from journalists about this.

Can't you see meat on this list? His Goggins and Matten are also allowed to eat, but only lean. You can't eat any sausages, sausages, or semi-finished meat products - this is quite expected..

To make a green smoothie, you need kale (or other lettuce), arugula, parsley, celery, apple and lemon juice - all of which must be thoroughly chopped in a blender and seasoned with dry matcha green tea powder before use. Thus, in one glass there will be a serving of a healthy drink containing an impressive amount of antioxidants and vitamins. The drink should be consumed 1-2 hours before the main meal.

The second phase of the sirtfood diet lasts 4 days. It is a little easier to stick to it than the first one. Not one, but two meals are acceptable - you should also try to eat only sirt foods, as well as 1-2 servings of green smoothies. Red wine, chocolate, and meats are fine, and whole grain baked goods can also be eaten. It is important to remember that you need to have dinner no later than 7 pm.

Other sweets will have to be abandoned; butter, white rice, potatoes, packaged juices, soda - in general, everything that already has to be excluded in the course of most diets is also prohibited.

Advantages and disadvantages of the sirtfood diet

To lose weight quickly on such a diet, of course, is possible - you can lose up to 3 kg per week. This is quite suitable for those who want to lose weight quickly, for example, for a wedding or other important event.

The authors of the diet emphasize that although the list of permitted foods is limited, the leftover food is the healthiest possible. Among sirtfoods, there are fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, and therefore the diet will remain completely balanced.

Such a dietary system presupposes rather strict restrictions - you need to eat a limited amount of food, the amount of calories consumed should not exceed 1500. The likelihood of a breakdown with such a diet and subsequent weight gain - what is called the yoyo effect, is quite high.

This approach is not suitable for everyone: people with eating disorders, diabetes, a disease of the digestive system of the sirtfood diet should be wary of. Even those who do not have any serious health problems need to practice sirtfood nutrition no more than once every three months and then as an express method or a kind of reboot.

British nutritionists have subjected the diet of Adele and other stars, who have reported impressive results, with rather harsh criticism. So, they note that both wine and chocolate are quite high in calories by themselves, and therefore, if you eat them, then there will be no calorie reserve left for a full portion of “normal” foods. They also believe that most of the weight loss is not due to the amazing effect of sirtuins, but due to the removal of excess water. Intensive gym workouts will help enhance the effects of the sirtfood diet, according to nutritionists.

Scientists point out that there is not enough scientific evidence to support the impressive benefits of sirtuins and a diet based on them, unlike, for example, the Mediterranean diet, which has already established itself as one of the best diets.

In general, it is quite obvious that introducing sirtuins into your diet is not a bad idea, however, the scientific community does not advise switching only to a sirtuin diet - it will not benefit, but rather harm.
