The singer herself does not say anything about her success, but her secret was revealed by her personal trainer Camila Goodis (now Adele is not her ward). It turns out that the star is actively involved in Pilates and cardio - three times a week for an hour. But 90% of success, according to Goodies, comes from proper nutrition.

What is sirtfood?

The name of this diet comes from the word sirtoins - sirtuins. These are proteins that are found mainly in plant foods and are directly involved in metabolism and cellular processes (for example, repairing DNA strands). Sirtuins activate genes associated with fat processing. Given the growing interest in genetic research, it should come as no surprise that appropriate diets have emerged!

At the 2017 Grammy Awards, singer Adele gave a speech to her agent. “We've been together for ten years,” Adele said. - And I love you like a father. I don't love my real father, that's the point. So I love you the way I could love my father. " Thus, the whole world became aware of the singer's relationship with her parent, or rather, the absence of this relationship. Why the relationship between father and daughter did not work out is unknown, the singer avoids all questions from journalists about this.

Sirtfood meal plan


The first phase lasts one week:

  • three days - no more than 1000 calories per day. Three green smoothies (kale, turmeric, parsley, celery, green apple, lemon juice, green tea) and one full sirtfood meal per day

After three weeks, the creators of the diet suggest switching to a regular diet, adding as many foods as possible containing sirtuins. In addition, exercise is recommended (half an hour five times a week), but is of secondary importance to the Sirtfood diet.

Does it work?


As Adele's example shows (and Pippa Middleton was also fond of this diet), there is certainly an effect. Given that the diet consists of foods that are good for weight loss and excludes sugar, white flour and unhealthy fats, it would be strange not to benefit from it. In addition, it provides for a calorie deficit, especially in the first three days.

The authors of the diet claim that in three weeks you can lose up to 8 kilograms, in the first - up to three and a half.

Side effects


The main question is - how long will it be possible to maintain the new weight? The authors of the Sirtfood diet do not give detailed nutritional recommendations after three weeks on sirtuins: they say, eat more of them - that's all. Sounds good, but after 21 days of restriction, you can easily start overeating.

The 1000 calorie limit, common to everyone, will make many go hungry, no matter how much celery and parsley they eat. And if you are indifferent to green smoothies, then in the first phase it will be especially difficult.

In addition, it is known that at the beginning of any diet, excess fluid is the first to leave the body. And it will not be slow to return when the body is no longer severely limited.


Restrictions on animal protein (chicken and beef are modestly at the bottom of the list) can lead to muscle weakening and a slower metabolism. And this is not good for your health at all!

Another caveat - research in the field of sirtuins began not so long ago, and no one can guarantee that these proteins really affect weight and metabolism. Moreover, weight depends not only on the number of calories and the speed of food digestion.

Thus, Adele's weight loss success is certainly admirable. But the Sirtfood diet she has chosen (by the way, she already sat on it in 2016) is not suitable for everyone.
