What is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

Each of us at least once in our life was in a state where even after a long sleep you feel tired and empty. This is especially familiar to young mothers who, due to the new regime and lifestyle, begin to confuse day with night, or students who are trying to write a diploma non-stop.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is recognized as an independent disease by the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. It affects 17 million people in the world - we are talking only about diagnosed cases, so the number can be safely multiplied by two. It was once considered a complication after a viral illness. Symptoms of the syndrome can last for years, making it difficult to determine which virus has affected a person. Today, CFS is perceived as an independent diagnosis.

The danger of the disease is that CFS is a systemic problem. Over time, harmless symptoms become serious pathologies, which can be difficult to get rid of.

How to recognize chronic fatigue syndrome?

If for a long time you cannot concentrate on important tasks, you are in a bad mood, you think negatively, you are forgetful, irritable, nervous, absent-minded, it's time to pay attention to the signals of your body.

Should also cause concern: shortness of breath, numbness of the limbs, cramps, muscle pain, tremors, heart palpitations, swollen lymph nodes, sore throat, susceptibility to colds and viral diseases, increased fatigue, persistent fatigue even after rest and prolonged sleep.

In our body, all processes are associated with the nervous system. Prolonged being in a depressed state provokes the activation of nerve impulses, which respond in the form of skin rashes, allergic reactions, tics, exacerbation of chronic diseases.

Why does chronic fatigue syndrome occur?

What can help prevent chronic fatigue syndrome?

There is no single treatment for the syndrome. Each disease can proceed in its own way. The main task is to improve performance. The impact on the body should be complex. In addition to the treatment regimen prescribed by the attending physician, general recommendations must be followed.

Regular brain training

Training is needed not only for the body, but also for the brain. The lack of a variety of mental activities leads to an acceleration of the aging process. If you want to prolong your youth, start actively pumping gray matter.

You only need 20 minutes a day. The main goal is to make the brain work in an unfamiliar way. Thanks to this, the "sleepy" neural connections will begin to activate. The new experience will increase performance and improve well-being.

Incorporate some exercise into your daily tasks today.

  • Write any phrase. Then come up with a few other options to keep the meaning of the first phrase. Important: there should not be the same words.
  • Find a picture with many different elements. Look at her for a minute. Then close the picture and write down everything that you remember.
  • Take a pencil in each hand. Write or draw something first with one hand, then with the other. Then complicate the task - can you use two hands at once?
