You wake up in the morning, brush your teeth, smile at yourself in the mirror … and then you notice that your tongue looks somehow strange. Yes, it happens unexpectedly, but do not rush to search engines for an answer - you can find yourself a terrible disease, but in fact it is just a problem with digestion. As a rule, most of the troubles are minor and not painful. The thicker the coating, the sharper the condition, and a healthy tongue should have a light pink color. This is what the different features of the language may indicate.

1. White tongue
A thick white coating is leukoplakia that occurs from smoking or damage to the tongue. It's okay, but go see a doctor. Just do not confuse it with thrush, which looks like a layer of curd cheese and indicates a weak immune system, and in some cases, diabetes.
2. Red "geographic" language
A dotted tongue with small "islands" - this is its description. This is not dangerous, although no one knows yet why this happens.
3. Red tip of the tongue
This can mean mental or emotional stress. The tip of the tongue turns red if you are very anxious, then returns to its normal color.
4. Black tongue with hairs
Occurs in heavy smokers and in the multiplication of bacteria. Good hygiene, flossing and quitting smoking can help you get rid of this. The tongue needs to be cleaned too!
5. Yellow tongue
Liver or stomach problems. It may indicate the onset of the development of some kind of disease, and the yellow will gradually turn into brown or black. In the simple case, this is a sign of poor hygiene or medication, if all else fails, see your doctor.
6. Brown tongue
It is most common among smokers and coffee lovers. If it consistently has this color, there may be lung problems.
7. Blue or purple tongue
Heart problem indicator. If the heart does not distill blood well enough or there is not enough oxygen in it, this is reflected in the color of the tongue. Urgently see a doctor!
8. Pale tongue
Lack of vitamins A and B12. Better to go to the doctor and eat a diet rich in carrots, spinach, herbs, liver, fish and beef.
In any case, if something is wrong with the tongue and you are afraid, see a doctor!
